Ben Affleck and his poker carreer
Affleck is an enthusiastic poker player who was tutored by poker professionals Amir Vahedi and Annie Duke. He won the California State Poker Championship on June 20th , 2004, taking home the first prize of $356,000, which qualified him for the 2004 World Poker Tour final tournament.

As a regular in the celebrity poker circle, Affleck has made a name for himself by taking money from people who mistakenly thought that the “Hollywood Hold ‘Em Charity Showdown” was all about raising money. Although Affleck is very famous for his great ability in poker, he gained his gambling fame on a trip to Las Vegas when he, even if drunk, wagered $60,000/hand on blackjack. The movie star ended up walking away from the tables with $800,000 in his pockets and a hangover to remeber the evening!

Since then he became well known in his poker instincts. He won $356,000 at the California State Poker Championship in 2004 and cashed in a over $300,000 in the WPT Championship in 2005! Hopefully Affleck keeps some of his winnings, as reports have begun to surface that he has recently become addicted to online poker, wagering (and ultimately losing) up to $20,000/night!
