The officials that are behind Ohio’s first ever casino are now putting all of the finishing touches up on a venture that is aimed at boosting and promoting Cleveland’s economy. The developers that are at the Horseshoe Casino in Cleveland are going to be hosting an invitation only media preview this week for those that wish to see it, which is just a few days before the casino is officially opening their doors to the public. This is something that is exciting for those invitation only guests that have been invited. They have waiting long to see what exactly this casino is going to look like, and perhaps find out some of the luxuries that it will offer to the guests.
This new $350 million project is nestled right in the city’s old area of the Higbee department store that once was there. There will be additional space added later on in the process, during a second and maybe not final construction phase. The state regulators of the area recently decided to approve the operating license for the owners of the casino; the owners include the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers Dan Gilbert. This license was needed for the casino to even be put up in the area and to be run by those that own it. This is something that they have long waited for, and are excited to announce.
There are four other casinos going up throughout the state of Ohio following their approval by the voters that was held in 2009. There will be a casino opening in Toledo in late May, which is going to be followed by a new casino in the Columbus area, and then a new one being put in within Cincinnati. These casinos are all being put up as of now, and are awaiting a time to release the grand opening dates for the general public. This is something that the residents are waiting for; they want to know when the closest casino to them is going to be opened and operated so that they can go and take part in the fun and games, and not to mention the luxury that the casinos and resorts will be offering. This is all very exciting news, and is something that we will remain updating throughout the weeks as soon as more information about them is leaked. Cleveland’s new casino and resort is expected to open up early next Monday.
