Or imagine having the ability to bet with friends on the outcome of a Beleweled Blitz high score contest. With many social games already resembling with glorified slot machines, we shudder to think at the addictive (and pocketbook-destroying) potential that real-world gambling could have on the social gaming space.

A Pair 
The next highest combination from just a high card is a Pair. Just as shoes come identical in a pair, if you have two cards of the same face value then you have a Pair. While there are red and black cards and four different suits, none of that matters if you have two cards of the same face value; you have a Pair. If you have Jack of Hearts and a Jack of Spades then you have a Pair of Jacks. If you and an opponent both have a Pair, then the High Card rule will come into play, meaning whoever has the Pair with the highest face value wins. A Pair of Kings will beat a Pair of sevens.

Two Pair 
Two Pair is probably pretty easy to figure out considering you just learned out a single Pair. Two Pair is basically having one Pair of a particular face value, and another Pair consisting of a different face value. To put it plain and simple, if you have a Pair of Jacks, along with a Pair of Kings, then you have Two Pair. If you and an opponent both have Two Pair then the just like with a single Pair, the High Card rule will come into play.

Three-of-a-Kind 
The next best hand you can possibly have after Two Pair is known as Three-of-a-Kind; although sometimes it is referred to as Triplets. When you have Three-of-a-Kind it basically means you have three cards of the same face value. A simpler way to look at it is if your hand has three Jacks in it, then you have Three-of-a-Kind. The suit of the cards does not matter, as long as the cards have the same face value.

Enormous Bets 
The reason for this is because most of them use a system where you bet size doubles or gets a good size bigger every time you lose. So if you are out of luck and loose many times in a row, you will be betting enormous amounts on each bet.

Double up 
The most popular system is the double up system. It is very popular because it is so simple and looks so good on the surface. Do not be fooled. This might be the worst system there is. The reason for this is because your bet size will go up so fast, that you will be risking way more than you even thought possible. Let’s look at the math. If you start betting 1 dollar, and double up every time you lose, you will have to make a bet of 1000 dollars if you miss 10 times in a row.
