The multiplier is only one piece
A 20x bonus can be worse than a 40x bonus if the first applies to deposit plus bonus and the second applies only to the bonus. Always ask what the multiplier is applied to. The same number can create very different playthrough requirements.
Game weighting changes the calculation again. Slots may count 100 percent, blackjack may count 10 percent or nothing, and live casino games may be excluded. If your preferred game barely counts, the advertised bonus may not fit your play at all.
Expiry and max bet rules catch players
A bonus can become risky when the clock is short. If the player has only a few days to complete wagering, they may raise stakes, play tired or chase progress. That is not a good reason to keep playing. Expiry should be treated as part of the price of the offer.
